The Writings of PEGGY DANIEL ~

CELEBRATE THE GIFT OF LIFE

I was having more car problems. I told of friend of mine this and he said, “Don’t forget to celebrate the gift of life.”

I called a car guy I knew, and he was able to give me another guy that worked on the problem my car was having. The new car guy was able to get me in today! How amazing is that. He even offered me a ride home, if I have to leave the car there. What a celebration of life right there. I am alive and able to get the car right in.

I’ve been thinking how often I think about the bad things in life.   I now have a choice to make. I can celebrate every day or even every hour. To be excited I’m healthy and alive. There are so many good things. I can decide which way I want to go. My response is Woo Hoo! Thanks for the great advice.

It is greater to think and celebrate!   Let me keep it going!

WHAT IS HAPPINESS TO ME?

Happiness to me is the little things. It is the smell of good food that has been cooked. It is the smile back from someone after you’ve smiled to them. It is the wave of a person after you’ve waved to them to let their car pull in front of your car.

Once I was told by a man walking down the street, “Sometimes we spend so much time trying to get to our destiny, that we miss the trip getting there.” Isn’t that so true? But it is a matter of enjoying the now.

My thoughts about happiness have changed recently. A little over three weeks ago, my husband died. But I can’t afford to think of the sadness, but the blessing it was for him to be away from the suffering.

But then after that, it has been all the hugs, cards of sympathy and just the talks – if only to help one person be happier.

I can go on and on. But for right now, thanks for all the little things.
