CHARG Resource Center is a Denver-based mental health clinic and drop-in center providing outpatient services to adults. Services include counseling, case management, skills training, a payee program, recreational activities, medication management, and monitoring of overall health including dental. Peer specialists, therapists and social workers, a psychiatric nurse and a psychiatrist comprise the clinical team.

The Interim Executive Director (IED) will serve as the chief operating officer of CHARG Resource Center. The IED will provide organizational leadership and ongoing administrative, financial, and management oversight while CHARG searches for a permanent Executive Director.

CHARG is poised to enter a new era, building on the strong foundation of a dual-board partnership model and active consumer involvement, the organization will be embarking on a period of exploratory growth and strategic development through an equity lens. The IED will be expected to carry out the day-to-day responsibilities and, if possible, offer insight on policy development, improved systems management, capacity-building and areas for growth.

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization
● Manage external partnerships and working relationships with key stakeholders
● Identify, assess, and inform the Board of Directors of internal and external issues that affect the
● Foster a positive, healthy and safe work environment
● Meet regularly with staff providing support and guidance
● Foster effective teamwork between the Board and the IED and between the IED and staff
● Oversee the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices
● Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
● Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Board
● Work with staff to ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed
● Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the
monthly cash flow of the organization
● Work with the Board and staff to maintain and enhance working relationships and collaborative
aligned partnerships with CHARG, funders, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of
the organization

● Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop
teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget in a dynamic environment
● Track record of building successful partnerships with other organizations and key stakeholders
● Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member
● Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with
excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills and the ability to engage a wide range
of stakeholders and cultures
● Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning
● Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
● Must be positive, strengths-based, and inclusive in decision-making

Bonus – someone with experience in the mental health recovery field is highly desirable.

Location: Denver, Colorado – this person may work remotely 25-30% of the time but is expected to work
at the Heartland Clinic (709 E 12th Ave) location approximately three days per week
Job Status: Full Time Interim role (temporary position estimated 6-9 months)
Reports to: Board of Directors
Salary: DOE $5,000-$6,250 per month
