FEATURED ARTIST
Hakeem Furious is a wordsmith and Denver slam poet who uses his artistic talents to talk about mental health problems that plague the community and create safe spaces to talk about those problems. Furious’ notable performances include final stage appearance at the 2015 National Poetry Slam, two-time appearance at the Apollo Theater, and ranking #6 in the world at the 2019 Individual World Poetry Slam.

An innovative community established in 1989, CHARG Resource Center serves and empowers adults with mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar illness, and major depression. It is a partnership of people who believe that effective and lasting empowerment of persons living with mental illness occurs when they can make decisions regarding their needs, and that they thrive with dependable and ongoing services. Proceeds benefit critical CHARG programs including individual counseling, peer support, outpatient psychiatric services, medication management, skills training and employment opportunities, recreational activities, support monitoring overall health, and a homeless outreach program.
